The Albir family has been in the coffee business for several generations and the farm is located in the Dipilto region in Nicaragua. In 2007, the two sisters Ana and Martha decided to take over the farm and continue their father's tradition. Eight years later, they invested in a mill, providing milling and exporting services not only for their own family farm but also for 11 nearby farms owned by friends and family.
Moreover, the sisters pay their workers above average and they have medical centres and other services for their employees at the farm in order to secure the best labour conditions. Besides this, Martha and Ana make sure their people have a dignified life with access to food, electricity as well as education, which unfortunately is not very common in Nicaragua. This, combined with the exceptional coffee they offer, has resulted in the respect and appreciation that is highly associatied with their coffee brand today.
A tip: We recommend you to buy whole beans and grind the coffee yourself, once you need it for brewing. In that way you secure you get as fresh coffee as possible.
